Copenhagen sign new right back

Hørsholt: - Life goes on

The day after total defeat against FC Viktoria Plzen in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League is of course always one that is hard to take.

Something we always have been known for at FC Copenhagen is our ability to respect the long-term plan for the club and our patience in succeeding our sporting goals. Of course we are disappointed, but life goes on, and there are plenty of exciting challenges ahead of us.

In the domestic league we have got off to a great start, and nobody should doubt that the quest for our fourth championship in a row is at the very top of the priority list. Indeed, it is a championship that we know will ensure direct qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League group stage.

We are very ambitious and have high expectations of ourselves. We take the bitter with the sweet, and will continue to work very hard to ensure the greatest possible success for our club and fans.

Now we head to the UEFA Europa League, a tournament we've competed in before with success, and there are many exciting opponents in the bowl for Friday’s draw in Monaco. Let’s be honest, it’s obviously not the same as the Champions League, but nevertheless we will – as with everything we do – go into the tournament with ambitions to make it as far as we can.

Gustav Winckler’s Gem et lille smil til det bli’r gråvejr (‘Save a little smile for grey skies’) was a song played regularly over the PARKEN speakers last season, and it is perhaps not a bad song to find this grey Thursday.

However, while we are down today, we also look forward to many exciting and hopefully memorable moments in PARKEN, out across Denmark and throughout Europe.

Success is temporary, loyalty is forever.

Sincerely,

Anders Hørsholt
