FCK’s Alka Superliga unbeaten streak ends

FC Copenhagen’s 33-match unbeaten streak in the Alka Superliga came to an end after a spirited FC Midtjylland fightback on Wednesday.

The Lions were gunning for an undefeated season after winning the Danish championship earlier this month.

Peter Ankersen scored twice within 20 minutes to set the Lions on their way to victory.

But an own goal from Eric Johansson and a stunning André Rømer volley in first-half stoppage time levelled the scores.

Paul Onuachu tapped in to make it 3-2 to the hosts on 50 minutes and the best FCK could do in response were two efforts that sailed wide of goal.

Next up for Copenhagen is a trip to Lyngby on Sunday before next week’s DBU Cup final showdown with Brøndby.
