FCK Women sign Sofie Tranholm

F.C. Copenhagen Women have signed Sofie Tranholm ahead of the new season.

Tranholm, 23, joins the club from Kolding IF and has previously played for Sundby Boldklub and FC Nordsjælland.

The defender boasts 22 youth caps for Denmark, spanning the U16, U17, U19 and U23 national teams.

"I am really happy to be able to add Sofie Tranholm to the squad," says head of women's football Rebecca Steele.

"Sofie comes with good experience from Kolding IF, and I am sure that she will quickly fit into our way of playing and contribute with stability and energy in the defence."

Tranholm, who originally comes from Ølstykke, has experience of competing in the Gjensidige Kvindeliga (Denmark's top flight) from her stints at Sundby and FC Nordsjælland.

Discussing her move to F.C. Copenhagen, she says: "I'm just looking forward to getting started and becoming part of this ambitious project - and of course to meeting all the girls and the staff.

"I'm looking forward to contributing lots of energy and intensity to the game, which hopefully helps lift the team. In addition, I'm looking forward to creating lots of unforgettable moments with the players - both on and off the field."
