Major structural changes to FCK Talent Department

F.C. Copenhagen's Talent Department is undergoing a major coaching shake-up that will take effect after this season.

Sune Holmgren will become the new head coach of the U19s, while the U17s, U15s and U14s will also get new head coaches. In addition, several coaches will change roles around the teams in an ambitious restructuring.

Jakob Groth, the day-to-day sporting director for the U14-U17s, explained the decisions.

"We are constantly looking to create the most optimal environment in the Talent Department," says Jakob. "We believe that the new coaching arrangement ensures progress in our player education and contributes to a development environment at a top international level.

"We have focused on creating strong coaching teams with high professionalism and great human qualities."

On the U17s team, Emil Fredslund takes over the head coach job after most recently being player development coach. Jonas Rothausen becomes the new U17s player development coach.

Emil has been part of FCK Talent since 2019 and has a strong professional outlook that matches F.C. Copenhagen's ambitions to educate the professional footballers of the future.

Similarly, Jonas has developed his skills at FCK Talent and has most recently been head coach for the U15s.

"Both Emil and Jonas are incredibly skilled talent developers with a great drive and curiosity about the development of the game and individual players. They help ensure a high level of professionalism based on F.C. Copenhagen's football method and playing style for the benefit of our player education," says Jakob.

Mads Vittenbach takes over the head coach position of the U15 team, while Jacob Ginnerskov becomes the new U14 head coach.

Mads has worked as head coach for the U14s since the summer of 2022 and Jacob has contributed to creating an optimal development environment both as an assistant for the U14s and U15s in the three-and-a-half years he has been at FCK Talent.

"With this coaching change, we have ensured continuity across our teams, which is crucial for our core mission, which is namely player education," adds Jakob. "In addition, we are living up to our strategy of educating skilled coaches, and we are succeeding in ensuring development on the coaching and staff side too."
