Neestrup: Thanks for your derby support

F.C. Copenhagen fans and players greeted the players back at the Number 10 training ground on Sunday after the Lions' 3-0 win at Brøndby – and head coach Jacob Neestrup praised those who helped celebrate the victory.

There were no away fans in Brøndby Stadium to see FCK secure three crucial points in the Danish Superliga. But plenty arrived at the training base to cheer the players home.

“A very big thank you must go to the fans who gave us a send off to Brøndby, as well as all those who welcomed the players when we returned to Number 10,” said Neestrup.

“It means a lot to all of us to witness this passion and joy that comes from a derby win, and the support we could feel at Frederiksberg before and after the match.

“Now the derby is over, the focus is on our next challenge in the Danish Cup semi-final against Viborg FF in Parken. We have a good starting point but we have great respect for Thursday's opponent, and we expect a difficult match.

“We are looking forward to seeing a lot of Copenhageners in Parken on Thursday evening, where the goal is of course to reach the cup final."
