The winner meets AFC Ajax

Friday at noon, UEFA made the draw for the third qualification round to the group stage of the Champions League. The result was that the winner of F.C. Copenhagen – MyPa-47 will meet dutch giants AFC Ajax for the battle of the ticket to the group stage.

 

F.C. Copenhagen won the first match against MyPa-47 with 2-0 at the PARKEN Stadium and the return leg is played in Finland wednesday august 2nd.

 

F.C. Copenhagen has good experiences with the dutch club. In 2001, Copenhagen advanced in the UEFA Cup on behalf af Ajax. The first match ended 0-0 in PARKEN, but in the Amsterdam ArenA, Copenhagen won 1-0 on a late freekick-goal from Niclas Jensen.

 

- Should we advance to the third round then AFC Ajax is a club with proud european traditions and that is by itself a great challenge. In spite of all the clubs that was available, we are satisfied with the outcome, sports director Carsten V. Jensen says.

 

First leg is played on the 8th or 9th in of august in Finland or Denmark with the return leg to be played in Amsterdam on the 22nd or 23rd of august.
