Derby defeat but top-flight attendance record smashed in Parken

F.C. Copenhagen Women lost 2-1 in the derby in Parken on Saturday but nevertheless played host to 8,047 spectators in Denmark's national stadium – a new record attendance in the top flight of women's football.

Brøndby took a two-goal lead with strikes from Tilde Lindwall and Emilie Fink either side of half time.

And while Maria Hovmark halved the deficit with six minutes remaining, the Lionesses couldn't find a leveller – Emma Brandt's late shot deflected over the crossbar.

Despite the result, the atmosphere inside Parken was electric as thousands of supporters came out to cheer on the team, who usually played home games at Vanløse Idrætspark.

In fact, our next fixture is on Saturday 17 October at 1pm against OB at Vanløse Idrætspark. You can buy tickets online today.
