N'Doye named 2011 Player of the Year

It is obviously not just those at FC Copenhagen who appreciate the talents and value of Dame N’Doye. The Senegalese striker may have won three titles with the club, but he can also add another honour to his list: the 2011 Superliga Player of the Year.

N’Doye earns the accolade from a vote by all the players of the Superliga, who cast the striker as the highest performer in the league this calendar year. 2011 has seen N’Doye surpass FCK’s previous top scorer Todi Jonsson, when he bagged goal no. 69 for the Lions.

N’Doye himself was present to speak to FCK.DK about the achievement:

- It's always great when others appreciate what you do. My opponents know who is the best. They know who makes the difference on the pitch, so it's huge for me to receive this honour.

- I have also had a fantastic year. It has undoubtedly been my best year as a footballer. I owe a big thanks to my teammates because without them, I could not have achieved it all. We have jointly worked hard to get this far.

Previous Copenhagen winners of the Player of the Year accolade include William Kvist (2010), Jesper Grønkjær (2007), Michael Gravgaard (2006 and 2005) and Thomas Røll (2002).
