F.C. Copenhagen sign Youssoufa Moukoko
F.C. Copenhagen are delighted to announce the signing of German striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who will join the club with immediate effect.
Moukoko, 20, joins the Danish champions from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year deal that runs until the summer of 2030. He will wear the number 9 shirt with “Youssoufa” on the back.
Despite his young age, Moukoko has played 99 first-team games for Dortmund and scored 18 goals, including several in the Bundesliga and Champions League. He has also played two senior internationals for Germany and a number of youth internationals, where he was among the top scorers at both U17 and U21 levels.

Sune: Investment in both the present and the future
Sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen says:
"This is a very exciting transfer.
“Youssoufa is a player with enormous potential and already has a lot of experience at the highest level. He fits perfectly into the profile we are looking for – young, hungry and with a high technical level. We believe that he can take the next step in his career here in Copenhagen.
“Youssoufa has faced some of Europe’s best defences and has shown that he can make a difference at that level. It is a transfer that will both strengthen us here and now – but also in the longer term.
“It is an investment in both the present and the future, but also a player that we need to allow to settle into our environment and build up in the right way.”
Neestrup: We must provide opportunities to succeed
Head coach Jacob Neestrup is looking forward to working with the German striker.
"Moukoko brings speed, technique and goal scoring potential to our attack. He comes with a will to win, a confident attitude that matches well with F.C. Copenhagen. He has proven his level in the Bundesliga and in European football,” says Neestrup.
"He is the type of striker who can do something on his own. He is a dribbler, can combine in small spaces, finishes smartly and is dangerous in the box. He is also strong and aggressive in his pressing game. I am very much looking forward to integrating him into our plans and getting the best out of his qualities.
"On the other hand, we also know that Youssoufa comes with a crazy amount of pressure because he has been heralded as one of the next greats in world football - with all that comes with that.
“That's why we also have to help manage that part here in Copenhagen, and thus give both Youssoufa and F.C. Copenhagen the best opportunities to succeed.”

Youssoufa: I can feel the trust
Moukoko is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career.
"F.C. Copenhagen is a big club with big ambitions that match my own,” he says.
"We've had good conversations, and I'm very happy to be here. I can feel that there's trust in me, and now I'm just looking forward to getting started and giving it my all on the pitch.
"I played against F.C. Copenhagen in the Champions League in 2023, and it was a strong experience that made a big impression on me. The experience in Parken was fantastic, and I could feel that it's a club with the Danish capital behind it.
"I'm looking forward to being a part of it and showing what I stand for in that beautiful white jersey.”
