F.C. Copenhagen sign Yoram Zague on loan
F.C. Copenhagen have signed a loan deal with Paris Saint-German for 19-year-old right-back Yoram Zague. The agreement runs until the summer of 2026 and includes a purchase option.
Zague has already made his debut for PSG's first team and has appeared nine times in Ligue 1. In addition, he is a regular member of the French U19 national team.
The young Frenchman joins with immediate effect and will start pre-season training with the rest of the squad.
“It means a lot to me to join a club like F.C. Copenhagen," says Zague.
“I’ve had a strong football education at PSG and I’m grateful for my debut there, but I feel it’s time to take the next step. I’ve followed F.C. Copenhagen’s European matches and seen how the club gives young players a chance at a high level – that inspires me and fits my ambitions.
"The club appeals to me a lot – also based on my conversations with the sporting director and the coach. I look forward to becoming part of the team, getting to know a new environment, and improving as a player."
Sune Smith-Nielsen: "A strategically right match"
F.C. Copenhagen's sporting director, Sune Smith-Nielsen, says of the agreement: “Yoram is a player we've had our eyes on for some time. He matches the profile we're looking for in the position – a young player with European and international qualities.
"We get the opportunity to assess him. At the same time, the agreement gives us a purchase option, which looks to the future if we together believe there’s a good foundation for a permanent solution. He strengthens the competition within the squad and brings both speed and talent to our defensive line."
Neestrup: "A modern full-back with a strong presence"
Head coach Jacob Neestrup is pleased to add Zague to the squad and sees him as a player with great potential.
"Yoram is a modern full-back – fast, technically skilled, and with a natural drive up the pitch at great speed. He is attack-minded and has significant potential. Naturally, there is work ahead to integrate him into our defensive strategies and relationships, especially in relation to the more Scandinavian way of defending, but that is a task we look forward to starting," says Neestrup.
Zague will participate in his first training session with the team on Tuesday and will wear shirt number 22 for F.C. Copenhagen.
