Jores Okore skifter til F.C. København

Jores Okore signs for FC Copenhagen

FC Copenhagen has signed a four-year contract with Jores Okore from Aston Villa. The 24-year-old defender will wear jersey no. 26.

- We are delighted that Jores has signed for FCK. He is a player with international skills such as his physics and speed, which makes him a very exciting player. He had a good start to his career in England, before he was unlucky with a serious injury and a club with a lot of problems. Now he will get a new start here and compete on equal level with the other defenders, says manager Ståle Solbakken.

- FC Copenhagen is a club with big ambitions, and during the last week we have shown that we do everything we can to fulfil them on the pitch and on the transfer market. It is important for us to act right on time to be ready for the challenges ahead, exemplified by the signings of Nicolai Boilesen and Jores Okore, says director Anders Hørsholt.

Before his transfer to Aston Villa, Jores Okore was part of the FC Nordsjælland-team who won the Danish Championship in 2012 and played in the Champions League group stage, and the same year he was part of the Danish International squad for Euro 2012. Now he is looking forward to get the same kind of results with FC Copenhagen:

- FC Copenhagen is the greatest club in Scandinavia and has regularly proved themselves on an international level. It’s perfect for me to join a club with the same big ambitions as myself. My stay in England didn’t end as good as it started, but I have learned a lot, and I am top-motivated to show that I’m still a good football player, says Jores Okore, who will begin in the club on Monday.
