Red Cross
F.C. Copenhagen has supported the Red Cross for many years and, in the autumn of 2023, this relationship was formalised through a partnership agreement with the Røde Kors Hovedstaden (Red Cross Capital Region).
In September 2024, the collaboration was expanded to include a national partnership with the Red Cross.
These agreements align with F.C. Copenhagen’s 2022–2027 strategy, "Vi er København" (We Are Copenhagen), which focuses on doing more for the city, notably by significantly strengthening our CSR platform through strategic partnerships.
Our collaboration with and support for the Red Cross goes back a long way. For instance, on 7 May 2002, F.C. Copenhagen hosted a major event at the Circus Building (Cirkusbygningen), with ticket proceeds going to the Red Cross. Prior to a home match against Silkeborg in October 2002, 35 prominent Danes also conducted a fundraising drive for the Red Cross.
In 2015 we partnered with the Red Cross and Vangsgaard to invite children from an asylum centre in Zealand to an FCK home match at Parken.
In 2017, we donated two kroner per spectator at a home match to the Youth Red Cross, and in recent years, we have provided support on several occasions by donating surplus clothing or special Red Cross match shirts, with the proceeds going to the organisation.
Our Main Partners, Unibet and Carlsberg, have also generously supported these relief efforts by making their shirt sponsorship space available, such as during the two Champions League away matches against Villarreal and Barcelona, thereby giving the Red Cross exposure to a global television audience.
Fortunately, many others also provide financial support to the Red Cross, and we also seek to help by offering experiences – something that holds value for the people the Red Cross assists in various ways, as well as for the volunteers who do such tremendous work for the organisation every day.
This includes our annual tradition of inviting families in need – together with the Red Cross Capital Region – to a Christmas party at Parken Stadium on Christmas Eve, or the time in 2017 when we offered all Red Cross fundraisers in Copenhagen four tickets to an FCK home match.
