FCK and Red Cross to host kit collection in Parken

F.C. Copenhagen and the Red Cross will be collecting football-related clothing and football boots so the items can be sold in Red Cross shops across Copenhagen this spring.

The initiative will take place at Parken Stadium during our home game against Lyngby on 10 March.

Supporters are encouraged to bring clothes and boots to help support Red Cross Hovedstaden's (Red Cross Capital) work with vulnerable people in the city. It also means clothes that may otherwise be thrown away can be reused and repurposed.

"After a well-orchestrated and fulfilling Christmas Eve even, we are looking forward to expanding our collaboration with the Red Cross with this initiative," says Mikkel Grove Lindsted, commercial director at F.C. Copenhagen.

"This partnership helps us support the work of the Red Cross and gives them the opportunity to get more football gear onto the shelves in their stores.

"In this way, more Copenhageners can access well-made clothes to play football in, and at the same time it extends the life and sustainability of the kit. This first initiative will be a test run and the plan is that we will do it regularly in the future."

Donate football kit before the match on 10 March
Fas will be able to hand in football kit, training gear and boots at entrance C0 of Parken Stadium before the match begins. It is important that all items of clothing are of good quality, otherwise the Red Cross' capital shops won't be able to sell them on. The focus is on football kit, fashion items, training gear and boots in all sizes, but all clothes and shoes will be gratefully received.

The collection starts at 2pm and lasts until 3:45pm.

"Red Cross Hovedstaden operates 16 charity shops in Copenhagen," says the Red Cross Capital's head of organisation, Thomas Mølgaard Andersen. "We sell used goods at reasonable prices and use the profit from these sales to help Copenhageners in difficult life situations.

"We look forward to receiving your quality second-hand clothes and getting the most value out of them in our shops."

Start saving the clothes you want to donate
We hope that many F.C. Copenhageners will contribute to the collection, so if you have any football clothes or boots lying around, save them until 10 March and hand them in at Parken!
