F.C. Copenhagen and Red Cross agree cooperation

F.C. Copenhagen and Red Cross Copenhagen (Røde Kors Hovedstaden) have entered into a cooperation agreement, which will result in several joint ventures to help vulnerable people in Copenhagen.

The first joint event this year will be the Christmas party in Parken on Christmas Eve, where FCK and Red Cross Copenhagen invite vulnerable people to get together and celebrate Christmas. It is an event we hope can become a tradition in the capital.

Parken will also collect and donate football kit and clothes to the Red Cross in the capital, with more initiatives to come, says director Jacob Lauesen.

"We want to contribute to making the world's best city even better to live in - and we have a responsibility to do that for those who don't always have it easy. The Red Cross is a perfect partner for us with their great know-how and network," says Jacob.

"We experienced it at our own Christmas event last year, where we gave a lot of people a good experience. Now we look forward to repeating that success and to developing a strong collaboration to provide several initiatives for the city's vulnerable people."

Red Cross Copenhagen are also looking forward to expanding and strengthening the newly formalised collaboration with FCK.

"With FCK as a partner and sponsor of a fantastic Christmas party, we look forward to being able to help many vulnerable citizens in Copenhagen celebrate Christmas Eve together, with others, in what is otherwise a lonely time for many," says Lone Buchardt, programme manager for the Red Cross's social efforts in the capital.

"There are enough vulnerable citizens to invite.

"We know that needy families with children, lonely adults and seniors alike will welcome the invitation to the Christmas Eve party in Parken. We look forward to putting the programme in place and are grateful to FCK's many and generous partners, who will ensure that there nothing is missing."
