F.C. København er klar til Champions League

Sune: 'Now we have to compete'

F.C. Copenhagen's sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen says he's excited by Thursday's UEFA Champions League draw but insists the Lions head into the tournament to compete with the best.

FCK will host Dortmund, Leverkusen, Napoli and Kairat Almaty in Parken during the League Phase, and face trips to Barcelona, Villarreal, Tottenham and Qarabag.

The full fixture list with dates and kick off times won't be confirmed until Saturday but Sune is already looking forward to the action.

“These are some exciting opponents that we are really looking forward to playing against,” he says.

“It is extremely rare that you can go into a match in Europe and not expect a strong opponent, and that expectation is only less when we participate in the biggest tournament of all.

“We are really looking forward to sharing even more European evenings with all those who support F.C. Copenhagen. Both in Parken and in Europe. It will be big for all of us.

"Now we have to compete, and our goal and focus for the team is to be among the 24 best sides in the League Phase, so we can look forward to more European matches in February 2026."
