Magnus Mattsson

Magnus Mattsson out with long-term injury

F.C. Copenhagen can confirm Magnus Mattsson suffered an injury during the UEFA Champions League play-off with FC Basel that likely rules him out for the rest of the season.

"Magnus has been an absolute key player at the start of the season, both in the Superliga and in Europe," says head coach Jacob Neestrup.

"He has delivered strong performances both as a starter and when he has come off the bench, and he has delivered goals and assists. His dynamism and high creativity have helped in central midfield, and this has been reflected in big matches such as the home ties against Malmö FF and FC Basel.

"We are therefore disappointed on our own behalf not to be able to make use of Magnus on the pitch, but it hurts even more to think that Magnus is losing the opportunity to be part of a very exciting season.

“We will work hard to get Magnus back among his teammates, so that both they and the fans can see him play more big games for F.C. Copenhagen."

Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen wishes Magnus a speedy recovery.
