Victory on Superliga return

Victory on Superliga return

FC Copenhagen completed a stunning comeback to start their spring season in style against OB last Sunday, the Lions claiming a 3-2 victory from the jaws of defeat.

FCK had taken the lead 11 minutes in when OB’s Daniel Høegh unfortunately bundled the ball into his own net following a long throw-in down the Copenhagen right wing.

The Lions’ lead didn’t last long however and the scores were soon level thanks to Emil Larson’s looping effort that flew straight through Johan Wiland’s hands and into the net. It was an uncommon error from the Swedish goalkeeper but before half time it was 2-1 to OB when Wiland and Ragnar Sigurdsson got in each other’s way – to leave Darko Bodul with an easy tap in.

The fight back started early in the second half and FCK made it 2-2 on 54 minutes with a sublime piece of football. Nicolai Jørgensen picked the ball up from deep and played a long one-two with Danny Jensen. The midfielders timed their link-up to perfection and Jørgensen ran through on goal to slot home a neat equaliser.

FCK continued to press and finally got their reward on 70 minutes when further composed build-up led to Claudemir slotting through the goalkeeper’s legs from close range after Jørgensen and Bolaños combined to open the OB defence.

Copenhagen held on for the three points that keeps them 12 clear at the top of the Superliga. Watch match highlights here, from FCKTV
