Ståle Solbakken extends FCK contract

"Ståle has our DNA in his blood, and we are happy and proud to announce that he will continue his dedicated work in the years to come," Lions CEO Anders Hørsholt told fck.dk.

"Since he returned to the club in 2013, he has played an important role in bringing us back to the strong position we want to have in Danish football and again made us an important international club.

"We still, however, have an ambitious plan for the future and Ståle plays and will continue to play an important role in reaching the goals we have set."

Ståle is the most successful manager in the history of F.C. Copenhagen and the Danish Superliga. With FCK he has won six championships, three cups and participated four times in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

"The most important thing for me is that the daily life at the club works so well," Ståle said.

"We have a strong foundation for the future, but we also know we have a lot of work ahead of us. FCK is a part of my history, and I have become a part of FCK’s history, which I am proud of.

"I look forward to continuing my work at the club together with the dedicated team around me,and I am sure great things are waiting for us."
