Santin reaches landmark tally

César Santin became FC Copenhagen’s record goalscorer on Wednesday night when he bagged two crucial goals against OB to take his tally to 83.

Santin leapfrogged Dame N’Doye into top spot as FCK beat Odense 4-3 in the DBU Cup, Pierre Bengtsson and Marvin Pourie with the Lions’ other goals.

Known for his cool and opportunistic finishing, Santin’s first goal epitomised his record tally. Kasper Larsen failed to clear from a corner, which let the 32-year-old slip in behind the defence and elegantly flick the ball past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner.

Santin’s second also came in front of goal, this time the striker timed his run to meet Thomas Kristensen’s delivery unmarked and head home number 83.

Now into his sixth season in PARKEN, Santin boasts four Superliga titles and two DBU Cup medals.
