Santin departs FCK

FC Copenhagen have sold striker César Santin to Cypriot club Apoel Nicosia after six seasons at the club.

Santin arrived in Copenhagen from Swedish side Kalmar FF back in 2008 and rose to become the club’s top scorer, netting a record 84 goals, including 65 in the Superliga, in 220 appearances.

Now, the 32-year-old is ready for a new challenge away from the Danish capital and so heads to warmer climes in the Mediterranean with the blessing of sporting director Carsten V Jensen:

- César has certainly done Copenhagen great service during his time with us. And although he was still competitive and could play a role in our squad, we have decided to listen to his own desire to get the experience that he believes Apoel can give him.

- César has spent six years at the club and we wish him all the best in Cyprus. We must thank him for his work and dedication while at FCK.
