Lions held to Midtjylland draw

FC Copenhagen played out a 0-0 draw with defending Alka Superliga champions FC Midtjylland on Friday but escaped a late disallowed goal for the home side.

Morten Rasmussen converted a cross from the right with nine minutes remaining only for the assistant to raise his flag for a close offside.

And Thomas Delaney redirected a late corner off the Lions woodwork and out, while at the other end Kasper Kusk saw a final effort parried by goalkeeper Johan Dahlin.

Benjamin Verbic had a golden opportunity to open the scoring for FCK but drove his effort wide of goal from 10 yards.

Ludwig Augustinsson had a shot well saved by Dahlin and came within inches of curling an effort into the top corner on a frustrating day for the left-back.

But the deadlock was never broken as Andreas Cornelius got a late substitute appearance to mark his return from a serious ankle injury.

Next up for FCK is a home clash with AGF on Sunday, kick off 19:00 Danish time.
