F.C. Copenhagen signs Dominik Sarapata

F.C. Copenhagen has signed Polish midfield talent Dominik Sarapata, who transfers from Górnik Zabrze to the capital club. The 17-year-old midfielder has already made a name for himself in the Polish Ekstraklasa. The agreement runs until the summer of 2028.

Sune Smith-Nielsen: A young player with great maturity
Sporting Director Sune Smith-Nielsen is pleased with the addition of Sarapata:

“Dominik is a player we’ve been following closely. He has already proven himself at senior level in Poland, where he has gained plenty of playing time at a young age. He’s an intelligent and hard-working midfielder with strong ball-carrying abilities and a maturity rarely seen in a 17-year-old,” says Sune Smith-Nielsen.

Sarapata has played over 1,500 minutes in Poland’s top division for Górnik Zabrze this season and has registered both a goal and an assist. He is known for his tactical awareness, vision, and willingness to take responsibility – both on and off the ball.

Sarapata: Ready for the next step

“I am very proud to become part of F.C. Copenhagen,” says Sarapata.

“I’ve made great progress at Górnik, but when F.C. Copenhagen came forward, I could feel that this was a club and city where I could really continue my development. The international level and the quality within the squad appeal to me – and I’m ready to take the next big step in my career.”

Neestrup: Dominik is highly dedicated

“Dominik is a player who made a name for himself early in the Polish league. He plays with great maturity and responsibility, and he shows high intensity both on and off the ball,” says head coach Jacob Neestrup.

“He’s a young man who is very dedicated to his football, but also someone who needs time and calm to take his next steps at F.C. Copenhagen. We believe he can help us already in the short term, while also holding great potential for the future. I’m very happy that we’ve been able to make a deal with such an exciting player so early in the transfer window.”

Dominik Sarapata will join the squad on Sunday when training resumes and will wear shirt number 23.
