1-1 i intenst Derby

Intense Derby ends in a draw

For the first time in many years, it was no. 1 against no. 2 when the two big rivals clashed in the Copenhagen Derby, and they didn’t disappoint their fans and delivered one of the most well-played and exciting Derbys for many years.

FCK looked the like a winner after the first 45 minutes, where they dominated the play and created several good chances, before Pavlovic headed the champions in front just before halftime.

After the break, Brondby fought themselves back into game and put the Copenhagen defence under pressure, but a couple of good saves from Robin Olsen kept the guests in the lead until 20 minutes from the end. Andrew Hjulsager hit a perfect volley from the edge of the penalty area and Olsen was chanceless when it found the corner of the goal.

In extra time, Falk was very close to score the winner following an amazing run by Danny Amankwaa on the right wing, but with some problems Brondby-keeper Ronnow managed to keep the ball out of his goal.

However, players from both teams said after the game that they could live with a draw, which means that both teams still are unbeaten after seven rounds.

- Our biggest issue in these weeks is that we need to many chances to score goals, said a fairly satisfied manager Ståle Solbakken after the game.

- We needed 6 chances to score once against APOEL on Wednesday, and 7-8 chances against Aalborg last weekend. Today we also created 6 good chances, and we simply miss too many of them. But still, we met a really good Brøndby-team today, and especially their midfielders did very well, so we are not complaining.
