FCK top of Danish Google list

The search engine Google.dk has this week published a list of the most searched for keywords in 2011 in Denmark. Perhaps not surprisingly Facebook peaked the overall most searched word of the year. The ‘sports’ category, however, threw up an interesting result.

The result of the ‘sports’ category of Denmark’s most searched for word should interest all FC Copenhagen fans. For Copenhagen has beaten the sporting likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Caroline Wozniacki to claim top spot in 2011. Copenhagen also beat two other Danish Superliga clubs to the position.

Below is Google’s list of the most searched for words in the ‘sports’ category in 2011:

1 - FCK

2 - Messi

3 - FC Barcelona

4 - DBU

5 - Real Madrid

6 - Caroline Wozniacki

7 - Manchester United

8 - Aab

9 - Brøndby IF

10 - Ronaldo

In fact, Copenhagen are the only football club in Europe that tops their respective national Google search in the ‘sports’ category this year.
