Mohamed Elyounoussi extends contracts until 2029
F.C. Copenhagen are delighted to announce Mohamed Elyounoussi has extended his contract until the summer of 2029.
The Norwegian forward has been a key figure in the F.C. Copenhagen team since his arrival in 2023 and has contributed 25 goals and 20 assists in 93 games.
The new, long-term agreement ensures continuity and quality in FCK’s attack and emphasises the club’s ambition to maintain a high level of international calibre in the team.
Elyounoussi: F.C. Copenhagen feels like the right place
F.C. Copenhagen's number 10 is delighted to have signed his new agreement.
"I am really happy to be at F.C. Copenhagen, and it means a lot to me to extend my contract with the club,” he says.
"This feels like the right place for me and my family, both personally and from a sporting perspective. The club has really welcomed us, and I have felt valued and respected since day one.
“We are working towards something big here, and I will do everything I can to help the team achieve new successes – both in Denmark and in Europe.
“I have been impressed by how we have come together as a new group and at the same time continually developed. I am convinced that we, in this group of players, are far from reaching our peak level.
“There is still a lot to do for this group, and I am pleased that together we are willing to improve every day.”
Sune Smith-Nielsen: A significant player in F.C. Copenhagen
Sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen is pleased to have secured Elyounoussi on a new deal, saying: "We are very pleased to extend 'Moi', who has shown his high level right from the start with us. He is a significant player in the Superliga and has been crucial for us with both goals and assists.
“With this extension, we secure a strong and experienced player in a key position, and at the same time we get the contractual situation under control, which is important for a club with our ambitions.
“It is also part of our strategy to maintain a strong Scandinavian group in the squad, who knows the demands and culture of F.C. Copenhagen.”
Jacob Neestrup: A player who delivers and leads
Head coach Jacob Neestrup adds: “Moi has been an important piece for us since day one. He contributes with quality in the decisive phase of the game, where he is both a goal threat and strong in the build-up.
“He is a flexible offensive player who is also instrumental in our pressing game. His 25 goals and 20 assists in 93 games speak for themselves.
“At the same time, he is a player who leads the way in training and matches. He is a top professional, places high demands on himself and his surroundings, and he is respected and well-liked by the entire squad.
“He is a pleasure to work with, and he delivers the decisive actions that can help decide matches in our favour.”
