FCK-OB Odense 4-2 (3-2)

After beating no. 2 FC Midtjylland 4-1 on Easter Monday, F.C. Copenhagen beat no. 3 OB Odense 4-2 in PARKEN, and increased the lead in the top of the table to 11 points in front of over 26.000 spectators.

Brazilian ace Ailton Almeida got his first league goal for FCK after ten minutes, when he scored with a spectacular overhead-kick after Atiba Hutchinson had hit the woodwork.

After 25 minutes Jesper Grønkjær hit a superb cross from the left, and Michael Silberbauer powerfully headed it over the line, even though keeper Arek Onyszko got his hand to it. A few minutes later Atiba Hutchinson was tripped in the penalty area, just like in Thursday’s cup-tie in Herning, but this time Hjalte Nørregaard made no mistake from the spot and hammered it home.

Three goals up after half an hour against OB – who had not lost against FCK in PARKEN the last five years - seemed almost crazy, and the huge home crowd were absolute ecstatic. But not for long… the guests showed good morale and produced a remarkable comeback when they pulled two goals back within 45 seconds!

First, Jonas Borring headed a cross from Martin Borre into the net, and shortly after OB profited by a mistake from Michael Gravgaard, and Bechara Oliveira scored from the edge of the penalty area. A few minutes later Martin Borre could even have silenced the home crowd totally, but he somehow managed to lift the ball over the crossbar from very close range following a long throw-in.

Instead Copenhagen overcame OB’s stunning comeback and produced a couple of good chances towards the end of a very entertaining and varied half, where the two teams presented Danish league-football at it’s very best.

Copenhagen dominated the opening of the second half, and after 10 minutes Silberbauer got his sixth goal in the last three games, when he stole the ball from a hesitating OB-defender and coolly outwaited Arek Onyszko before he chipped the ball into the net.

That settled it, and even though OB never gave up, they could not produce another comeback against a top-concentrated and aggressive home-team, who didn’t give anything away.

FC Midtjylland drew at home against FC Nordsjælland, and thereby Copenhagen increased the lead in the top of the table from nine to eleven points with nine rounds to play. The next game is already on Wednesday night against 4th of the table FC Nordsjælland in Farum.
