FC Copenhagen reach DBU Cup final

FC Copenhagen have reached a fourth successive DBU Cup final after beating Vendsyssel FF 2-0 in Hjørring.

Jan Gregus lashed home from distance to hand the Alka Superliga leaders a 20th-minute lead.

And Kasper Kusk made it 2-0 on 74 minutes to ensure the victory.

Vendsyssel had Bjarke Jacobsen sent off four minutes before Kusk’s strike.

After the game FCK manager Ståle Sobakken said: "We did what we needed and delivered a professional job.

“The back four was very stable today and goalkeeper Stephan Anderson took the one shot he had to save.

“The central midfield also delivered a solid effort, William Kvist plays a good game and Gregus got a great goal.

“But we dipped more in the four offensive positions, although Kusk did have several good moments.”

FC Copenhagen will face either Brøndby IF or FC Midtjylland in the DBU Cup final on 25 May.

Midtjylland host Brøndby in their semi-final next Thursday.
