The draw for the 3rd qualifying round

On Friday the 3rd of August at 1200 (CET) UEFA undertook the Draw for the upcoming matches in the 3rd qualifying round for the Group Stage in UEFA Champions League. F.C. Copenhagen will be part of the crucial 3rd qualifying round, if they eliminate Beitar Jerusalem, who was defeated 1-0 in PARKEN in Copenhagen in the 1st leg of the 2nd round on Tuesday night.

 

The result of the UEFA draw is that the winner of the Beitar/Copenhagen tie is set to meet SL Benfica from Portugal. The two matches are to be played on 14/15th August in Lisbon and the return leg on 28/29th August in either Jerusalem or Copenhagen depending of the aggregate winner.

 

If F.C. Copenhagen advance from the 2nd qualifying round, an opponent in the toughest category will be waiting. As followers of F.C. Copenhagen will know, the Danish Champions met SL Benfica in last years UEFA Champions League Group Stage, playing a 0-0 draw in PARKEN and losing 3-1 at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

 

The winner of the 3rd qualifying round will advance to the UEFA Champions League Group Stage, while the defeated team will continue in the UEFA Cup.
