Copenhagen sign Icelandic winger Gislason

FC Copenhagen have today come to an agreement with Odense BK for the transfer of Icelandic midfielder, Rurik Gislason. The 24-year-old offensive player switches to FCK on a four-year contract with immediate effect.

FCK director of sports Carsten V. Jensen was on hand to speak to FCK.dk about the new signing:

- Rurik is a player we have been looking at for a long time, and we are therefore very pleased that we can now develop him at FC Copenhagen. Rurik is a different type of winger than we already have in the squad, and with his battling will and surging power he will become a valued player in PARKEN. With this approach, we feel now that we are well prepared for the challenges that await us in this busy autumn period.

Gislason, who has played for Anderlecht, Charlton Athletic and Viborg FF before joining OB, is looking forward to this new challenge:

- This is clearly the right step for me in my career. I have tried to get better every year as a player, and FC Copenhagen are a club that all players in Denmark want to play for. So I’m really proud and happy that I have done enough to deserve a shot here. And I am grateful that OB showed understanding of my desire.

- I come with great goals in mind for FC Copenhagen and will challenge for the championship every year, and I will bring everything I can to make my time at the club a successful one.

Rurik Gislason will wear the number 19 shirt at FC Copenhagen.
