Bees return to Parken Stadium roof

Beehives have been returned to Parken Stadium's roof after being taken down for the winter.

The hives, which last year produced 120.3kg of honey, are one of the many local initiatives run at F.C. Copenhagen under our For KBH project.

City Bee (Bybi) is a local project that works for a city where bees, flowers and people thrive. To make the honey, the bees collect nectar from gardens, parks and balcony boxes in the surrounding area.

Honey from the city is not contaminated, and the honey from each district has a unique taste and colour. You can buy Parken's City Bee honey from the FCK Fan Shop on Øster Alle for 25kr (40g) pr 50kr (100g).

The idea for Bybi originated in 2009, when anthropologist Oliver Maxwell cycled past an apiary on Amager on his way home from a Christmas party. He called the beekeeper and was captivated by the bees and their way of creating connections across the city's flower beds and community. Oliver is currently the director of Bybi, which you can read more about here at bybi.dk.
