Ariel Jacobs appointed new FCK manager

Ariel: - Fans are twelfth man

FCKTV spoke to head coach Ariel Jacobs and a number of the Lions squad ahead of their derby clash with Brøndby IF this Sunday. Watch the interviews here, at FCKTV…

Ariel Jacobs heads into his second ever Copenhagen derby with a slight injury concern over Nicolai Jørgensen, who picked up a knock during international duty for Denmark this week. Jacobs discussed the international break and the frustrations for club managers that come with it.

- I think as a club you always fear the (international break) experience due to injuries or whatsoever. We have one injury in Nicolai Jørgensen and I think it will be too early on Sunday for him.

- But with so many players leaving for national and youth teams I think (injuries) are quite normal.

Asked about how the FCK team will cope with playing in front of a bumper 30,000 crowd at PARKEN on Sunday, Jacobs was confident his side can use the atmosphere to their advantage:

- We play in a beautiful arena that is not always crowded according to the capacity. On these opportunities where the crowd is bigger the players should be aware of it and it should only enhance their passion and enthusiasm – backed of course by the public, which is our twelfth man.

Indeed, the strong Copenhagen following in PARKEN will be hoping for a victory on Sunday afternoon and Jacobs, answering FCKTV’s questions, confirmed what he expects from the game:

- To go for a win and to play with passion.
