Svensson looks ahead to FC Inter Turku showdown in Parken

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Bo Svensson says his team knows "exactly what is required" ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Conference League playoff second leg against FC Inter Turku, as the Lions seek to advance to the league stage.

A 0-0 draw in Finland means the tie in Parken Stadium is finely balanced.

And Svensson hopes the FCK home crowd can roar his players through a third successive qualifying round.

"We have been working purposefully towards this match, and we know exactly what is required," says Svensson.

"The goal is crystal clear: we have to go out and win the game, and we have to play in the league phase. It's a challenge we approach with lots of energy and faith in our own abilities. We're looking forward to playing in Parken again after three away games."

Hungry to show the right mentality
The draw in Turku last week preceded a 4-0 loss to Viborg in the Superliga over the weekend – results that Svensson wants to put right, starting on Thursday.

"In a long season, there will be matches where the game doesn't go to plan," he says.

"It doesn't change the fact that Sunday's performance was far below what we should expect of ourselves, but now we have to show that we have the right mentality in the squad to deliver what is required of us.

"We have really been looking forward to coming back to Parken. When you have played away for three matches, you really feel that absence, and also are eager to play in Parken again. It is something special, and we are looking forward to being in familiar surroundings again.

"It will be a match where we must take the initiative and put the game on our terms. We have respect for the opponent, but we also know that when we reach our level in Parken, we are incredibly difficult to stop."

FCK vs FC Inter Turku kicks off at 7pm on Thursday 27 August, and tickets are on sale now.
