Debut goals and more as FCK beat OB 5-0

Thapelo Maseko scored twice on his full debut on a day of many firsts for F.C. Copenhagen as the Lions beat OB 5-0 on Sunday.

Maseko, playing in the FCK starting XI for the first time since his arrival from South Africa, found the net after just five minutes and bagged another midway through the second half at Nature Energy Park.

Defender Asger Sorensen also scored his first FCK goal since arriving from Sparta Prague in the summer, while youngster Marvin Nasnas scored his first of the season, and Argentine loanee Maher Carrizo netted on his debut appearance off the bench.

Speaking after the game, head coach Bo Svensson said: "It was a nice victory on a day when we missed some due to injuries and also Elyounoussi and Král started on the bench because they have played a lot of minutes.

"We showed again that we have a strong group, where the new players performed well, and where those who came on from the bench during the game also made a difference – which is as we have seen before, and as it should be at F.C. Copenhagen.

"Maseko's first goal was a really nice strike, and he also worked hard for the team and did his job. We didn't have many shots in the first half, but we were effective with the ones we had, and we were also a bit lucky with the shot that OB had that hit the post, because an equaliser could have changed the game.

"But apart from that chance, I think we prevented them from having chances, while we were often dangerous ourselves when we got up to their end of the field.

"After the break, I think you could see that there was some fatigue in the team, as OB had the ball for a longer period. But when we sent fresh players on, we started to play faster and also got further up the field, and that made a difference in the last part of the game, where we got the last three goals.

"So all in all, I think it was a very professional effort today."
