Zanka doubles up in Lions triumph

FC Copenhagen head into the winter break top of the Alka Superliga after a 4-1 win over OB on Sunday.

The Lions break for Christmas in high spirits after captain Mathias Zanka scored twice before Nicolai Jørgensen and an own goal wrapped up the points in Telia Parken.

Zanka volleyed home the opener just 16 minutes into the match after OB failed to clear their lines.

And the centre-half bagged another before half time when he rose to nod home Ludwig Augustinsson’s corner.

Rasmus Falk fluffed a golden opportunity to hit back for OB after the break when he skied Rasmus Festersen’s cut-back - the goal gaping - and Jørgensen punished the miss 21 minutes from time with a neat finish on the counter.

A freak own goal from Lasse Nielsen added gloss to Copenhagen’s result, although Anders Jacobsen ensured OB went home with a consolation thanks to a neat finish at the near post just minutes from the end.

The Copenhagen squad will now enjoy a break from football over the Christmas period before reconvening at Number 10 for training in the New Year.

FCK’s first league match of 2016 will be at home to Esbjerg on 28 February.
