Verbic goal not enough in SønderjyskE draw

Benjamin Verbic’s first-half strike was not enough to hand FC Copenhagen three points as SønderjyskE rallied to draw on Sunday.

Verbic side-footed past goalkeeper Marin Skender from the left side of the area 23 minutes in after neat build-up play from Kasper Kusk and Jan Gregus.

But the hosts hit back through Simon Kroon after the break when the substitute bundled home from a long throw-in.

Andrija Pavlovic and Federico Santander both squandered golden chances in the first half as they came up against an inspired Skender.

Copenhagen now have a week before their next outing against FC Midtjylland this Saturday.
