Toutouh restores FCK to winning ways

Youssef Toutouh’s second league goal of the season earned FC Copenhagen a narrow Alka Superliga victory over Viborg.

The midfielder popped up at the back post 52 minutes in to smash home after Andreas Cornelius had taken advantage of a quick free-kick to cross from the left.

Captain Thomas Delaney went close with an early flicked header, while Nicolai Jørgensen spurned a one-on-one opportunity before half time.

Mathias Zanka could have doubled FCK’s lead but fired a free header over the bar, before hitting the post with another aerial effort moments later.

And Jørgensen saw a final break-away chance saved by VFF goalkeeper Peter Friis Jensen as the Lions were forced to make do with the one-goal win.

The Copenhagen squad now breaks up for the international break, with manager Ståle Solbakken having his men back next week ahead of their clash with Hobro on Sunday 18 October.
