Strikers inspire Champions League win

FC Copenhagen moved into the UEFA Champions League playoff round with a 3-0 home victory over Astra.

The Lions, who had drawn the first leg 1-1 in Romania last week, took the lead through Andreas Cornelius’ 14th-minute header.

Federico Santander doubled FCK’s lead when smashing home a fluffed clearance from Ludwig Augustinsson’s centre.

And Cornelius bagged his second of the night on the stroke of halftime - this time rising his to head in an Augustinsson corner.

The 4-1 aggregate score means FCK move into the playoff qualifying round, where they will play one of five seeded champions from other leagues across Europe.

Attention now turns back to the Alka Superliga and Copenhagen’s trip to SønderjyskE on Sunday.
