Ståle: - We must gamble a little bit

Ståle: - We are still alive

FCK head coach Ståle Solbakken admitted he was proud of his team despite their 3-1 defeat against Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ståle spoke to the press after the game, which saw Olof Mellberg level the scores in the second half only for Juventus’ Arturo Vidal to score twice in two minutes, securing a hat-trick, and earn victory for the hosts.

- I am proud of my players and it was a very good away game against a top European team, Ståle began.

- Our use of the ball throughout the game was very good and we have performed better with the ball as the tournament has progressed.

The loss means FCK cannot qualify for the last-16 of the Champions League, but there is a Europa League place up for grabs. Copenhagen must better Galatasaray’s result on Matchday Six when the Lions welcome Real Madrid to Denmark, while Gala host Juventus.

- We are still alive and we will hope that we can provide one last, brave effort to go through, Ståle said.

- I have said that I hope for one Christmas present before that 24th December and that is a win or maybe a draw in PARKEN.

The Lions are now back in Denmark preparing for their weekend clash with Brøndby as focus reverts back to the Superliga. FCK and BIF are level on points, six behind league leaders FC Midtjylland, heading into Sunday’s game.
