One down - two to go!

In the return leg of their second round Champions League qualifying tie F.C. Copenhagen once again did not take FK Mogren of Montenegro lightly. Through hard work the team laid the grounds for a repeat performance and got another 6-0 victory.

Coach Ståle Solbakken had thrown eight new players in the starting eleven compared to the game a week ago, but they all passed the test perfectly and demonstrated that as such the squad is perhaps stronger than ever before.

Ståle Solbakken,

- Compared to the first leg in Copenhagen, the game transpired in almost identical fashion. In reality the tie had already been decided of course, and therefore I am absolutely delighted to see that we were still able to focus on the actual game at hand. Naturally, I am also pleased by the fact that we once again scored a whole bunch of goals. In any case, it was great to be able to hand an opportunity to some of the younger players in the squad and in fact Thomas Delaney was perhaps the best man on the pitch in his first European game ever!

Thomas Delaney,

- I think it went well for both team as a whole as well as for me personally. But then again, the opposition was quite easy today. I focused on getting a good start and play my own game and then after a while I felt confident enough to begin taking some risks. Anyway, when I scored I just finished right away without giving it much thought.

William Kvist,

- We did what we had to do and got the job done. It was wonderful to see our attackers get some goals - and how nice they were!

Libor Sionko,

- It felt great to be playing again. Eight weeks have passed since I last played and if nothing else it was important for me to play an entire game. I am still a little rough on the ball but I will get there soon.

In the next round F.C. Copenhagen face the Norwegian champions of Stabæk who beat KF Tirana 5-1 on aggregate. The first game will take place in PARKEN next Wednesday at 20.15 and the return leg a week later, and although this tie promises to be much more evenly balanced, as seeds F.C. Copenhagen must still be considered favourites to go through.
