F.C. København skriver kontrakt med Nicolai Boilesen

Nicolai Boilesen signs for FC Copenhagen

The left-back joined Ajax in 2010 and played for their U19-team and reserve side Jong Ajax before becoming a member of the first team.

Boilsen went on to captain Ajax until he decided not to extend his contract when it expired in June 2016.

"First of all, Nicolai is a very good player with plenty of intelligence and a strong technique," manager Ståle Solbakken told FCK.dk.

"He has international experience from Ajax and the Danish national team and we are aware that he has not played for the last year in Ajax.

"Therefore, we have made plans for him to get back to his highest level without any stress or pressure.

"With Ludwig Augustinsson, we already have a very strong player in the left-back position but when Boilesen is ready they will compete on the same terms, and then we are planning to sell Ludwig next summer."

Boilsen has won four Dutch championships with Ajax and he is looking forward to winning more trophies with Copenhagen.

"FC Copenhagen is a great club, also on the international scene, and I’m happy to be a part of the very strong squad here," he said.

"I haven’t played games for a year and even though I’ve been training regularly I know that I have a lot of hard work to do before I reach my best level.

"But I’m looking forward to it, so I can win more titles and help FCK on the international scene. I am sure that I have made the right decision with this move."
