New numbers for new signings

New domestic broadcast deal

Over the last week the DBU and Superliga have been negotiating a new television rights deal with Viasat and TV 2 Sport. The agreement has been made for a three-year contract that ensures Superliga clubs over a billion Danish Kroner – around €130 million.

FC Copenhagen CEO Anders Hørsholt, helped negotiate the historic agreement between broadcasters and league representatives. He spoke to FCK.DK about the new arrangement:

- We are extremely pleased with the agreement, which is the best we’ve ever had of its kind. In addition to the record amount the clubs will receive, the structure of the agreement has also changed. It is now even more desirable to finish at the top end of the table. This is great news for our club.

- We would like to think Denmark and Scandinavia's top club could have probably received an even bigger agreement if done independently, but this helps more, as money will be channelled out to all clubs, meaning the Superliga is a more attractive product across the board. I am therefore delighted that we have now created a structure that is so beneficial to Danish football, and which means that we are way ahead of some of our competing football leagues in Europe.
