New numbers for new signings

Match Highlights: HB Køge 0-5 FCK

Carsten V. Jensen and his men continued their unbeaten record in 2012 with a thumping victory away to HB Køge.

The big news before the game was that Dame N’Doye was back in the first XI after serving a suspension in the Lions’ last match against AGF, which finished 0-0. The Senegalese striker has been in imperious form of late, currently on 15 goals for this Superliga season.

However, no matter how hard he tried, N’Doye could not find the back of the net. Instead, his team-mates all chipped in. When Thomas Kristensen side-footed the ball home after just six minutes, it looked as though FCK would run away with the game early.

This was not to be the case, and it took a HB Køge red card and a half-time pep talk to spur the Danish champions forward. Just before the hour mark César Santin made it 2-0 with a low header, before Sölvi Ottesen also used his head to slam home a corner from close range.

Mos Abdellaoue came on as a substitute and rounded off Christian Bolaños’ run to score his first competitive goal in a white jersey, before Pape Pate Diouf did the easy bit of sticking the ball into an empty net, after N’Doye had hit the post and seen his second effort saved off the line.
