Lions suffer first league defeat in six
FC Copenhagen suffered a first Alka Superliga loss in six after going down 3-0 to Randers on Sunday.
The Lions went behind to a well-taken Mikael Ishak effort just before half time, before the striker bagged a spectacular volley midway through the second half to double Randers’ advantage.
And Nicolai Brock-Madsen swept home a third with a minute to go after holding off his man in the penalty area.
Ludwig Augustinsson and Steve De Ridder both went close for FCK early on, while a good save from Karl-Johan Johnsson prevented Rurik Gislason finding the net.
And when Nicolai Jørgensen saw his lobbed effort blocked by the goalkeeper it was clear that this was not FCK’s day - which ended with Brandur Olsen being shown a red card.
The result does not affect Copenhagen’s second-place standing in the Alka Superliga, although Randers have cut the gap to third to eight points.
