Lions lose to Midtjylland

FC Copenhagen suffered their second defeat in six days at Telia Parken as late goals from Kristian Bach Bak and Sylvester Igboun handed FC Midtjylland a 2-1 result in the Danish capital.

FCK had their chances early on but the scores were locked until the 81st minute, when Back Bak squeezed in a flicked header from a free-kick to hand FCM the lead, only for Igboun to double it in stoppage time from the spot after Stephan Anderson had brought down Kristian Nielsen.

Andreas Cornelius earned a consolation for the Lions with a well-taken penalty in the dying seconds after a foul on Per Nilsson — Cornelius sweeping the ball into the bottom right corner.

But a very late comeback never surfaced as FCK went down fighting and now look ahead to the first leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
