Jørgensen extends FCK contract

FC Copenhagen have extended Nicolai Jørgensen’s contract until the summer of 2017.

Jørgensen, who spent much of the spring injured with a hamstring strain, spoke to FCK.dk about the new deal:

- I'm super happy to stay at FCK and I see huge potential in this club. For me, this is the right thing to do right now. I love being at FCK and I can still develop a great deal here. I also am happy to stay in Copenhagen, close to my family and friends, so it feels as though everything works out for me here at the club.

- I'll have a season without injuries, and I will build a little of everything into my game. It is huge to be one of the young players who will help to advance the project here. I see myself as an established player at FCK.

Manager Ståle Solbakken told FCK.dk he is glad that FC Copenhagen and Jørgensen decided to extend their relationship by a further year past its previous conclusion.

- Nicolai is a player that covers several offensive positions and this extension gives us peace. A peace that hopefully can benefit both Nicolai and the team, so next season will be a success for both the team and Nicolai as an individual player. It's no secret that he at some point may move on, but now he is really happy to be at FCK, and we are super happy with this extension.

Jorgensen's new contract also means he will wear the number 10 shirt for FCK. He has so far played 59 matches and scored 20 goals for the club.
