Highlights: FCK win the Superliga derby

Nicolai Jørgensen’s double helped FC Copenhagen ease past Brøndby and maintain their course for the Alka Superliga title on Sunday.

The Lions, playing the second of three derbies this month, took the lead through a calm Jørgensen penalty after Ludwig Augustinsson had been tripped in the box.

And striker Jørgensen doubled Copenhagen’s lead after the break when side footing home William Kvist’s cross on the break.

Federico Santander could have scored himself but blazed a far-post effort over the bar from close range, while Robin Olsen matched Brøndby’s best chance from Christian Nørgaard at the other end.

The result keeps FCK nine points ahead of the chasing pack with eight games remaining in the league.

But attention must now turn to a trip to Brøndby Stadium for the reverse leg of the DBU Cup semi-final, which is poised at 1-1 from the first encounter in Telia Parken.
