Further winter friendlies announced

FC Copenhagen kick off their spring campaign away to AaB on 4 March. Before this however, the club have arranged a number of mid-season friendlies to get the squad back into shape.

Plans have already been drawn up for FCK to play in Spain in the Copa del Sol tournament. However, further fixtures have now also been sealed for matches back in Denmark.

On 25 January the team face Esbjerg, who were relegated from the Superliga last season but currently sit top of Division 1, with a five-point lead. The game will be played at Copenhagen’s Number 10 training facility in the west of the city.

The squad will then fly out to Spain for the Copa del Sol, and will return before hosting Vålerenga IF on 11 February, again in Frederiksberg. Vålerenga are currently seventh in the Tippeliga.

Copenhagen will play their final mid-season friendly on 25 February with the visit of IF Elfsborg. The teams met last season at Number 10 as FCK were preparing to face Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League. The game finished 2-0 to the Lions, with former FCK goalkeeper Jesper Christiansen in goal for the Swedish side.

Below is the updated list of friendly fixtures for this winter, which may be subject to change. All kick off times in CET:

25 January 13.00: Copenhagen - Esbjerg FB
