FCK sign Alex Kacaniklic

FC Copenhagen completed the loan signing of Fulham winger Alexander Kacaniklic on transfer deadline day, the club’s last acquisition on a busy day in football across Europe.

The Swedish international is a former Liverpool academy product, who has gone on to make 47 appearances for Fulham and enjoy loan spells at English clubs Watford and Burnley.

Kacaniklic, 23, arrived in Copenhagen to complete the season-long loan before talking to FCK.dk about his move.

- FCK is a big club in Scandinavia and Europe. It is a club with ambitions, both here in Denmark and the Europa League. I had a couple of good talks with the coach and I’m looking forward to [playing].

- I’m a winger and can also play in central roles. I’m fast, I like to take people on, score goals and get assists. I want to win the league of course and then in Europe get through the group stage.

Manager Ståle Solbakken also spoke to FCK.dk about the Lions’ new arrival.

- We brought Alexander in because he's a really good player with great offensive qualities. We need a bit more width in the squad and in Alexander, we have a player who can play all three positions behind the forward.

- He comes with both Premier League and international experience from the Swedish national team, so he fits in very well with us.

Kacaniklic made 23 appearances in the Premier League last season and has been given the no.17 shirt. He will train with his new team-mates of Wednesday morning as the Lions prepare for their clash with AaB after the international break.

Also on deadline day, FCK agreed to loan out Marvin Pourie to Superliga club SønderjyskE for the rest of the season. Marvin has scored three goals for Copenhagen in 19 appearances.
