FCK learn UEFA Europa League opponents

FC Copenhagen will play either Newtown AFC from Wales or Maltese side Valetta FC in the second qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League.

The first and second qualifying round draws were today completed in Switzerland, with Copenhagen entering at the second stage against the winners of the first tie.

Technical director Johan Lange said of the draw:

- It is on paper a reasonable draw where we are favorites against both of the potential opponents. It was also important to avoid the very long journeys eastwards.

Newtown and Valetta will play their two legs on 2 and 9 July.

The games for the second qualifying round will be played on 16 and 23 July and, according to the draw, Copenhagen will play at home in the first leg.

However, this has not yet been confirmed.
