FCK face Ludogorets in Europa League

FC Copenhagen will play Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad in the last-32 stage of the Europa League.

The Lions were pulled out with Ludogorets during UEFA’s draw on Monday.

Ludogorets came third in their Champions League group behind Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, meaning they moved into the Europa League knockout stage.

Likewise, FCK placed behind Leicester and Porto in Group G to progress to the last-32.

The first leg will be played in Bulgaria on 16 February, with the reverse fixture at Telia Parken scheduled for 23 February.

FCK.dk caught up with a number of the players to gauge their reaction to the draw.

Ludwig Augustinsson

“We do not know them very well yet but it initially seems like a good draw, especially when you see who we might otherwise have faced.

“There is no team that joins the Europa League from the Champions League group stage without having a lot of quality.

“But I think we have a good chance if we can hit the level we have shown here in the autumn.

“Of course it is always difficult away from home but we have the advantage that we play the second leg at Telia Parken.

Mathias Zanka

“They are a technically good team but also a team that we should create good chances against.”

Benjamin Verbic

“They are a good technical team with some Brazilian wingers, so not a team to be underestimated.

“But I agree that we've got a good draw when you look at the other teams we could have faced.”
